When it comes to New Years resolutions, you may find yourself setting big goals that excite you that may revolve around diet and weight loss after a big festive season of overindulging.
You may also find that by the time February rolls around, no progress has been made and you may have forgotten what they were to begin with…sound familiar?

The key to success is to keep it simple by taking consistent action. Simplicity helps to avoid the overwhelm and contributes to sustained success. So instead of saying ‘I want to drop 5 kilos by June’, why not change your language to ‘I want to increase my vegetable intake and eat an abundance of wholefoods’. 

After all, this is key when it comes to optimal health, longevity and reaching the most desirable weight for your body type. Need some inspiration? – try this Super Salad to give you a kick start!

5 minutes 



  • 60 spinach and rocket leaves
  • 40g red cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1 raw beetroot, grated
  • ¼ bunch coriander, roughly chopped
  • ¼ bunch basil, roughly chopped
  • 100g blueberries
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 tablespoon Melrose MCT Kick Start oil
  • 1 tablespoon Melrose Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 4 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
  • 50g goats feta, crumbled
  • Salt & pepper, to taste


In a large bowl, combine all the vegetables, herbs, blueberries and avocado.

To make the dressing, add MCT oil, apple cider vinegar, lemon and salt and pepper to a small bowl and whisk thoroughly.

Gently toss dressing through salad ingredients and top with pumpkin seeds and feta.
